Hello SVMS Band Family,
These special once-per-week practice sessions for all students in Wind Ensemble, taking place before or after school, are designed to help students:
master advanced concepts and skills,
learn their All-Region audition music (more about that later),
and most of all,
prepare them for future success on their individual instrument!
Attendance at sectionals is necessary for ALL students in the SVMS Wind Ensemble (2nd-period band)
Sectionals will take place in the mornings from 7:15 am - 8:05 am on a specific day for each instrument as listed below. Please help your child advance their skills by finding a way to bring them to school early one day per week for this important band practice. Most days, a band director will be here by 7:05 am if you need to drop off your student early.
If a student cannot make their designated sectional day/time, they will need to communicate with Mr. Hargreaves or Mr. Katz and work out a time to make it up after school or on another morning when there is not a sectional scheduled.
MONDAYS - Bassoon / Bass Clarinets
TUESDAYS - Trombone / Baritone / Tuba
WEDNESDAYS - Trumpets
THURSDAYS - French Horns

We look forward to discovering what our students will accomplish this year and seeing their instrumental skills and confidence grow with the benefits of this added practice time!
If you have any questions about sectionals or the sectional schedule, please feel free to let us know.
Thanks!
