LIGHTNING
Comal ISD uses PerryWeather for it's lightning monitoring. Per Comal ISD policy, when a lightning strike is indicated within 10 miles, all outdoor activity is ceased immediately. In the event Severe Weather is approaching:
Athletic Trainer on duty will notify coaches, umpires, and administration of incoming severe weather
Players/coaches/ and umpires will move to the field house or visiting team bus.
Spectators will move to their vehicles.
Administration will assist those spectators without vehicles to a designated shelter.
Comal ISD and all Smithson Valley schools are in "Class 3" Zones
