National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.

The Smithson Valley High School chapter of National Honor Society membership is currently made up of 116 seniors. Members serve both the school and surrounding community through providing over 1,700 service hours throughout the year.

Inductions occur twice annually - eligible juniors and seniors are inducted during the fall semester. The spring induction will be for only those eligible junior and seniors who have transferred to SVHS.
