School Safety
For safety reasons, all cafeteria, gym, and side doors are locked at all times. Parents/visitors are not permitted to enter the building through these doors at any time. Parents/Visitors will be directed to the front office of the building for proper sign-in procedures.
To help maintain a safe campus, please check in at our front desk and wear a vistor's name badge under your right shoulder while on campus so that staff members will know that you have properly checked in at the front office. When leaving campus, name badges should be turned in at the front desk.
Raptor Safe App Now Available for Visitor Self Check-In
Comal ISD partners with Raptor Technologies for its visitor management system. This year, the district has added self check-in kiosks at every campus where visitors may scan their identification cards to self check-in.
Raptor Safe App.
Additionally, a convenient mobile option is available with the Raptor Safe App. which allows visitors to verify their identity before arriving to a campus. With the Raptor Passport feature on the app, visitors may pre-verify their identity, for a seamless sign-in process when they arrive. Please note that this feature is for visitors and may not be used to sign-out students.
How Does It Work?
When visiting a campus, visitors may use a secure QR code generated by the app to expedite the check-in process. The QR code automatically regenerates every 5 minutes to ensure security and prevent misuse. Once signed in, visitors will receive a badge from office staff.
Getting Started
The Raptor Safe app is available to all visitors. To download the app, visit https://raptortech.com/raptorsafe-app/.

Campus Visitors: Use Video Intercom System
When visiting a Comal ISD campus, guests are asked to use the video intercom system located on an exterior wall near the entrance of each campus. The system is marked with a yellow sign.
To gain entrance to a school, every visitor uses the intercom, provides his name and reason for the visit. The front office staff sees the visitor through the video camera and grants entrance into the front door.
Visitors are asked to provide a valid, state/federal issued identification card, which is scanned using the visitor management system, and to identify the purpose for their visit. If the scan meets school/site criteria, the visitor is allowed appropriate access after receiving a visitor’s badge. All visitors must wear their visitor's badge at all times while in the facility.
Visitors are asked to stop at the office to return their badge and check out when their visit is completed so that they can be logged out of the system.
