Scholarship Opportunities

Comal ISD's first eSports college scholarship recipient was SVHS's Dennis Hoehn (center of photo), coached by Sam Pippert (picture on the far right of photo). Dennis was offered over $400,000 for his exceptional gaming talents, but in the end, he accepted a $92,000 scholarship to Bethany College in Kansas to play League of Legends. Even though the professional eSports leagues are tempting, Dennis is thinking about a career in the coaching or teaching fields after he graduates college. We wish Dennis all the best on his college career and beyond!

As eSports continues to grow across the country and world, more colleges are offering scholarship money for student athletes to come and play for their programs. In 2019, some scholarships reached as high as $25,000.
