Scholarships
Going Merry
Going Merry is a scholarship database which allows students to build a profile, indicating their interests and experiences, and then receive notifications for scholarships they are eligible to apply for at that time.
Seniors will utilize the Going Merry Platform to apply for local scholarship opportunities while enrolled in Comal ISD. www.goingmerry.com
There are many scholarship databases available to students such as www.scholarships.com and www.fastweb.com. This is not an exhaustive list; you may find more online.
College Board’s Big Future
Students will find a variety of planning tools to help them prepare for their time after high school at the Big Future website.
There are many tools, but here is a quick reference of what you will find:

College and University Scholarships
Each college and university will have their own scholarships, too. Don’t miss out by not applying.
Some will utilize their admissions application as the scholarship application.
Some will have their own scholarship application on their website.
Some will have scholarships at the college level, and then additional scholarships within your program of study/major.
Some will have earlier deadlines than the admissions deadlines.
The key factor is this: do the research. Make sure you do not miss out on opportunities by not knowing. When you’re looking at admissions for the school of interest, look at their scholarship information as well.
Be careful to avoid scholarship scams as you look for financial aid! Students should never pay for a scholarship application, give their Social Security number, or share bank account information!
