Today, Tiger Platoon functions as a professional student organization that works closely with other organizations at Clemson to honor the Senior Platoon as well as Clemson’s military heritage. In everything we do, we strive to reflect the precision, pride, and honor of the Senior Platoon, and to uphold the strong military heritage here at Clemson.

Founded by Cadet “Gator” Farr in 1929
Elite Drill Platoon with a rigorous try out process
Purpose was to “provide entertainment and publicize Clemson”
Performed in BCS bowl half times, NFL & MLB games – even performed for British royalty
Started “Cocky’s Funeral” in 1929
Ended in 1960 because of the discontinuation of the Corps of Cadets
Formed in 2000 by Clemson cadets
Goal was to honor Senior Platoon and educate the public on Clemson's military history

Each year Tiger Platoon marches in the First Friday parade, a Clemson tradition, in order to honor Senior Platoon.
Tiger Platoon hosts a 9-11 ceremony every year which includes a guest speaker and a 21 gun salute, performed by Pershing Rifles, to recognize those lost on that day.
Cocky's Funeral is a tradition which was started by Senior Platoon in 1929. A replica of University of South Carolina's mascot "Cocky" is created and burned. Tiger Platoon, with the help of CUSG, has continued this tradition.
