Photos from my time spent as an AMIGOS volunteer in the Dominican Republic
I am a Language and International Health major with a concentration in Spanish hoping to enter the field of health equity and advocacy. Through my studies at Clemson University and vast internship experiences, I have grown an interest in the study of health and education disparities and inequities in communities and hope to work to help even the playing field for all. I strive to connect with others different from me and greater study the unified humanity we have throughout cultures. Ultimately, the values of service, open-mindedness, empathy, understanding and visibility are what I strive to include in my future endeavors. A future career focused on cultural humility, well-being for all and equity would best allow me to follow these values in the professional world. In this field, I hope to bring the empathy and curiosity to see the beauty of every human and culture, striving to always understand the full perspective, and through my belief that through human connection we can all combat these health disparities and inequities together.
