TJ RUMLER
Tj Rumler was an amazing Professional Developent guest speaker. We had him last year as well and he was just as entertaining to listen to. He talked about self care. I did not realize how important self care was for your mental heath, and how as a future educator good mental health is important. To teach kids about how to be a good person and have good health, us as teachers need to do the same. One thing he did with both talks, he had a picture of prince on his slide show every now and then...and when we saw prince we had to take a second and breath. I really enjoyed this as it showed us the importance of breahing and controlling our breaths in normal situations.

Panel Discussion with Area School Board Members
This Professional developmet meeting was very insightful and was very interesting to listen to. A select few school board members came to talk to us teaching fellows about basically anything we wanted to ask them about. Us teaching fellows had a refrence sheet to ask questions, but a lot of us thought of questions on our own, which I thought was super cool! One of the main questions I asked was about budgeting. I didnt really understand how it worked in a school system. I was very shocked at how much went into budgeting for small things at a school and what board members have to consider while doing it. Overall this meeting was one of my favorites.
During this professional development meeting we had different people from a title one school to talm to us. This meeting meant a lot to me, and was very informal because I have the teacher loan which means I have to work in a title 1 school! I loved asking them questions and getting a feel of what being in a title one school feels like.
The teacher of the year for South Carolina, Deion Jamison came to talk to us at a professional development meeting. It was amazing to see a male teacher get this award and see a male be so passionate about teaching. I really enjoyed listening to him talk about how he started out as a teacher and i loved that he gave ud advice for being a new teacher.
