Our research lies in three areas:
1. Understanding multiphase reactions in deliquesced aerosol particles,
2. Revealing how aerosols form cloud droplets, and
3. Developing an environmental engineering approach to tackle the environmental issues
We mainly use home-made instrumentation to do our research
Photochemical reactions in bulk solutions are studied using this reactor.
This technique allows us to measure particle size and refractive index.
Shortly, QELS measures the surface tension of microdroplets.
It is a simple yet robust technique for measuring multiphase reaction kinetics.
Light-absorbing air pollutants (e.g., brown carbon) are analyzed.
Surface tension of bulk solutions can be measured.

We will employ this to measure particle or microdroplet pH.
