Last spring, a select number of Bayport-Blue Point High School students worked diligently to prepare solos for the New York State School Music Association All-State level.

These students were judged during a NYSSMA solo and ensemble festival this past May, earning high-achieving scores due to their hard work and dedication to the study of music.

These scores and teacher recommendations earned these students highly sought after spots in the prestigious All-County NYSCAME and SCMEA ensembles and an All-State alternate position.  

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for NYSCAME/SCMEA All-County: Sophia M., alto voice, All-County Mixed Choir; Lianna M., oboe, All-County Band; DJ P., tenor voice, All-County Mixed Chorus; and Alexandra V., soprano, All-County Treble Choir and SCMEA All-County Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Additionally, congratulations to Lianna M. on being named as a NYSSMA All-State Festival alternate for the oboe!
