This is an exciting unit in which the students will be able to use science tools to observe, measure, test, analyze, and classify mass, density, temperature, and magnetism! The students will have many hands on activities throughout the duration that allow them to practice using the scientific method.
We are currently studying the moon, sun, and seasons which are patterns. We will be discussing how the Sun’s position in the sky causes shadows, why the tilt of the Earth and its revolution causes our seasons, and how the different phases of the moon occur.
We are currently studying the water cycle and next week we wil head into weather. These are always fun topics as students relate and see these in action everyday. We have baggies taped to the windows in our classrooms waiting for the sun to come out and shine to create little water cycles within each bag so they see it happening in action.
