What is Illustrator?

Illustrator is a vector drawing program. It is often used to draw illustrations, cartoons, diagrams, charts and logos. Unlike bitmap images that stores information in a grid of dots, Illustrator uses mathematical equations to draw out the shapes. This allows vector graphics to be scaled larger and smaller without the loss of resolution.

Illustrator Activities

In Tech Ed students will work through step by step activities, requiring them to read and follow technical directions. After completing the objective of every activity students will display their completed work to the teacher for credit and then answer assessment questions about the important points of the lesson. For every activity, students will need their finished and saved activity file, as well as answer assessment questions correctly and completely to earn the points of the day.

Class Time is Important!

Because of the software dependent nature of this class, it is extremely important that students are present and use the class time given to complete activities.

IF absent, students will be expected to read and answer assessment questions for the activity missed, credit for the activity can be earned in extra time found when finished during future classes. Students that are absent for an extended time or fall behind in class could also attempt to complete an activity at home using the free illustrator alternative found at the bottom of this page.

If you are absent, or fall behind and don't finish your assignments in class you can complete an alternate activity for points. Complete one of the following tutorials and email the finished work to me for points.

When emailing me the file, I need both the gravit file and a finished jpeg in order to receive points.
