Life Lived at 100%
Harvey Suttle was born on March 29, 1940, to Will and Gussie Suttle. As the eldest of eleven children, he was deeply rooted in family from the very beginning. A proud and hardworking man, Harvey built a life defined by dedication to his loved ones, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for life’s simple joys.
Family and Loved Ones
Harvey was a devoted husband, an incredible father, a loving grandfather, and the best uncle anyone could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Ossie Blake Suttle (Josie Suttle), Will Suttle (Darlene), and Caroline Suttle. His memory is lovingly carried on by his surviving siblings: Geraldine Wallace (Rev. Lee Wallace), Barbara Suttle, and Emma Perry (Rev. Ed Perry) of Marion, AL; as well as Oretha Suttle, Lawrence Suttle (Helen), and Margaret Suttle of Chicago, IL.
On December 6, 1962, he married Ednolia Sanders. During their beautiful 48-year union, they raised three sons:
Gregory Maurice Suttle (Kimberly)
Terrence Andre Suttle (Ameralles)
Geoffrey Devonn Suttle (Sherita)
Harvey endured the heartbreaking losses of his son Gregory in 2004 and his beloved Ednolia in 2010. Later in life, he was blessed to find love again and married Ella Oakes. Her beautiful soul and endless patience brought profound joy and light back into his world, and he lovingly embraced her daughters, Nikita Yelder and Sheryl Davis, into his family.
His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends whose lives he deeply touched.
A Life Well-Lived
Harvey had a vibrant spirit and truly loved to have fun. He was known as a fantastic dancer, a great singer, and was famous among his loved ones for barbecuing whole turkeys. Despite his many talents, his absolute favorite pastime was simply spending time outdoors, meticulously cutting his grass.
