PBIS(Positive Behavirioral Interventions and Supports) and Hall Passes will all use our new 5-star monitoring APP. Please ask our students about this if you have any questions.
General Important Course Information:
Course work has budgeted completion time in class for most all projects and will work for most focused students; it should be sufficient for completing it if students are using their time and resources wisely.
Homework is usually assigned by students based on 1 of 3 following choices: 1. They want to get ahead. 2. They are studying or interested in going deeper. 3. They weren't focused or productive in multiple classes periods and have to make up the less than effective time in class.
Extra Credit: No assignments for this, however selected items may have unidentified extra credit questions. I also don't give extra credit assignments, as I value each assignment I give to my students and believe the window for learning can be extended by accepting late or resubmitted work within a reasonable time frame.
My classes don't use standard percent grading bands, as most work is completed using a scoresheet or rubric style grade.
Students who complete work early and with reasonably good quality will be expected to do one of the 3 following things:
1. Work on content extensions. 2. Use makerspace equipment for self researched and taught side projects(required in DMMEAR). 3. Work on work for another class. All 3 are available options that may change daily, but are expected follow-up activities that show students remain focused while in class!
Course Specific Details will be available in Syllabus sections below.
This elective course is meant to support students in their other core academic classes and build skills that would lead to success in future schooling and beyond!
