Robertson/Vista Library FAQs
How many books can I check out and for how long may I borrow them?
Students may check out up to 5 books at a time for 3 weeks. Manga has a due date of 2 weeks. Students may renew books by telling the librarian as long as no one else has placed a hold on the book.
We do not have fines for students with late books. The only time when students are charged a fee is when the book is not returned, or has returned significantly damaged and cannot be circulated again (i.e., missing pages, water damage, spills, damaged cover).
What is the layout of the library so I can find a book easily?
FICTION books are located to the left of the big screen, placed in alphabetical order based on the Author's last name.
NON-FICTION books are located to the right of the big screen, organized by Dewey Decimal number (000 to 999). The Biographies are organized by the person of interest's last name.
Comics, Manga, and Graphic Novels have their own section.
Magazines are on the display racks for in-library use only.
What if I can't find the book I'm looking for?
Please ask the librarian to help check if the book is available at another FUSD school. If yes, we might be able to request a loan from that school.
Can I go to the library during FLEX Time?
Yes. Please sign up on the 5-star App for FLEX and check in with the librarian.
How can I pay for lost/damaged books?
You may go to MySchoolBucks and enter the barcodes of the books. Once you have submitted payment for a lost library book, you will not be issued any refund even if you find the book at a later date. Payments are final!
Thanks for your feedback! We will be working on improving the library services based on your suggestions. Please find the summary of the 2025-26 Library Survey here.
