CSU Application Timeline

Fall 2027 Term

• August 1, 2026 – November 30, 2026: Application opens to create accounts and start filling out background information.

• October 1, 2026 – November 30, 2026: Priority application filing period where students officially submit their applications.

• October 1, 2026 – March 2, 2027: Priority period to submit financial aid applications (FAFSA or CADAA). 

Spring 2027 Term

• July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026: Application filing period for available spring programs. 

Summer 2027 Term

• February 1, 2027 – February 28, 2027: Application filing period for available summer programs. 

CSU Direct Admission

• CSU Direct Admission Program: GPA 2.5, 15 "a-g" courses

  • 17 CSU campuses are participating in Direct Admission. Impacted campuses including Fullerton, Long Beach, San Diego, San José and San Luis Obispo are not participating at this time. Impacted majors will require additional admission requirements. 

• CSU Impacted Majors & Colleges ~ Not included in the direct admission program

• Not Required: SAT/ACT, Recommendation Letter, Essays

• UC Application Minimum Requirements: 

  • GPA 3.0 for CA Residents

  • 15 "a-g" courses, with 11 completed by the end of junior year

  • Grades of C- or better on all courses

• UC Impacted Majors & Programs: Check each campus website to find out

• Essay: 4 out of 8 Personal Insight Questions (PIQs). Up to 350 words each.

• Not Required: SAT/ACT, Recommendation Letter, Interviews.

• Out-of-state Colleges / Private Colleges
