Rising 6th Graders for Next YEAR!!!
WEB/MAZE Day is July 31st - SAVE THE DATE
Hello Future Thunderbolts!
It was great getting to see so many families last evening at Thornton's Open House event! We look forward to meeting with you again on July 31st for our WEB/MAZE day event. More specific details regarding this event will be sent out in June. There is no make-up day for the July 31st event. Students who miss the event will need to print their schedules from their Aeries portal a few days before school starts and will get their school ID's during picture make up day in September. Participating in WEB for our incoming 6th graders has proven to be a game-changer when it comes to feeling more comfortable and at-ease with the transition to middle school. Please make every effort to have your child be available to come to Thornton on July 31st.
It's a Great Day to be a Thunderbolt!
Ms. Strausbaugh, Principal

PLEASE- Consider joining the PTA Board for next Year! We really, really need some parents to join the team. You will get step by step support. Email Ms. Dil kdil@fusdk12.net to connect with the team :)
2026-2027 Patterson Elementary Educator of the Year is Mrs. Erica Davis. Mrs. Davis was recommended by her peers and selected by Ms. Dil to represent our school this year. Her accomplishments were outlined in an application for Educator of the year to FUSD Leadership. District leadership were so impressed that they selected her as one of three finalists out of 42 school site winners. Although another educator won the overall title we are super proud of all of Mrs. Davis's accomplishments.

Thornton Middle School Open House for Incoming 6th Graders - April 22nd
Hello 5th Grade Parents,
Thornton Middle School is excited to invite you to our Open House created especially for our incoming 6th graders. Information was shared two weeks ago, via Parent Square, that included a flier which provided details and an overview of the schedule for your specific elementary school. In addition, you were informed that a video would be provided for you to watch PRIOR to the Open House event. Please take a moment to watch this video in its entirety before attending the Open House as it provides instructions on what exactly to do on the night of the event. There will not be an opening meeting at the start of the event. In addition, please take a moment to print or download a copy of the Open House Map to your phone. The rooms that will be open to visit are indicated on the map. We look forward to meeting you and your child on Wednesday, April 22nd!
Sincerely,
Ms. Strausbaugh

Resources for Conflict Resolution at home :)
We are back panthers! We are striving to continue to develop strong PBIS practices and positive experiences at Patterson! Based on student surveys with students we have identified the need to help students develop stronger conflict resolution skills and self calming skills. Below is our school expectations and our Wheel of Choice that we are teaching students to use at school. Feel free to make a similar wheel at home to practice conflict resolution at home. Take a moment to watch a video that most of our students have seen.

PTA... Congratulations on an amazing Winter Wonderland!

Dear Patterson Community,
We are pleased to inform you that Fremont Unified School District will continue a districtwide install of safety camera systems using Verkada, a cloud-based solution. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure a secure learning and working environment for all students, staff, and visitors.
What’s Happening:
The Verkada install will include cabling, new cameras and security infrastructure at Patterson. These safety systems offer improved video quality, real-time monitoring, and faster incident response.
Timeline:
The upgrade will begin soon at your school site, and the first group of schools is expected to be completed in about six months. Installations will be scheduled to minimize disruption to school operations.
What to Expect:
• You may see technicians working in and around school buildings.
• Camera systems will be visible and accessible for authorized personnel.
• There will be no changes to staff responsibilities or access requirements during this rollout.
Privacy Commitment:
All upgrades are in full compliance with district privacy policies and applicable laws. Recordings will be securely stored and accessible only to authorized personnel. Settings are currently: video (no audio), possible video link sharing for Fremont Police Department and Alert on People of Interest.
Privacy details in general https://www.verkada.com/trust/privacy/. Contact Barth Paine bpaine@fusdk12.net with concerns.
