Writing - Narrative, Opinion, and Informational

The writing program for third grade is a component of the Benchmark Advance curriculum used for English language arts instruction. The program has grammar and spelling (word work) components. Students are expected to use the spelling and grammar concepts taught in their writing. The program also gives students opportunities to write about what they have read each week and instructs students in the writing process. The writing genres addressed in the third-grade curriculum are opinion, narrative (stories), and informational texts.
