  • How long are my books checked out?

1 week. They are due the next time your class comes in for a library visit.

  • Can I renew a book?

Sure! If no one has placed a hold on a book, you can renew it up to two times. If you are renewing it on the day you come to the library with your class, make sure to place the book in the yellow "Renewal Books" bin next to Mrs. Caputo's computer. You can also come in during lunch or recess to renew your book. Just make sure you have a library pass!

  • I want to return my book early. How do I do that?

Mrs. Caputo has a book return bin outside the library door. You can drop your books off there, before and afterschool, and during recess and lunch.

  • I don't remember when my class visits the library!

That's okay! There is a class schedule in this site so you can remember. Click on the link that says "Class Schedule" at the top of the page.

  • I forgot my books, can I check out a book still?

If you are not at the maximum checkouts you can check out books to your limit.

Example: a 5th grader can check out 3 books but forgot to bring 1 in. That 5th grader can check out two more books to bring the total to 3.

If you have the maximum books checked out, then you will not be able to check out new books. You may pull a book of the shelf and quietly read while your class is checking out books. Just please return it to the shelving cart when you're done.

How many books can I check out?

Kindergarten: 1 book

1st - 3rd grade: 2 books (plus one extra if it is for a classroom assignment or project)

4th - 6th grade: 3 books (plus one extra if it is for a classroom assignment or project)

  • What happens if I lose or damage a book?

The school district sets a replacement fee of $25 for hardcover books and $10 for paperback books that are lost or damaged. Click on the link that says "Lost and Damaged Books" at the top of the page.
