My child lost or damaged a book.
If a book is damaged, please do not try to fix it at home. Have your child bring the book to me and tell me what happened. I can repair most of the damaged books. If the damage is beyond repair or the book is wet, we'll have to ask to pay a replacement fee.
FUSD set a fee of $25 for a lost/damaged HARDCOVER books and $10 for most PAPERBACKS to replace. (The purchasing price is sometimes greater than $10, so we'll have to set higher fee.)
A book is considered lost when it's 6 weeks overdue.
I will send you an email notice. In many cases, I offer you a choice to give me the same replacement book instead of paying the fee. If the lost/damaged is book is hardcover, the replacement book must be hardcover. The condition has to be "New' or "Like New".
