Mr. Paul Lorigan is currently in his 27th year as music director at Horner Middle School in Fremont.  Since taking the job in 1997, the music program has grown to over 300 students, supporting 4 levels of concert band, 2 levels of choir, jazz band, string ensemble, and concert percussion ensemble.  His bands and choirs consistently receive high ratings at the many music festivals and competitions they attend, including:  CMEA, Music in the Parks, CCGC, NCPA, and WGI.  A native of Fremont, Mr. Lorigan attended Washington High School, then graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelors Degree in saxophone performance and was subsequently granted a teaching license from the credential program at CSU Hayward.  He has studied conducting with Phil Zahorsky, Tim Smith, and Dr. Charlene Archibeque.  In addition to his teaching duties, Mr. Lorigan also enjoys performing on piano, synthesizers, and baritone saxophone.  He was a choir accompanist at Holy Spirit church for 17 years, lead the AfterImage Jazz Quartet for 10 years, and has been a member of the Ohlone Wind Orchestra since its inception in 1991.  In his free time Mr. Lorigan loves spending time with his wonderful wife Catherine, playing with his cat, reading spy novels, watching Star Wars and Star Trek, and of course any Hitchcock movie he can get his hands on.


Mr. Kris Cruz: Originally from the Union City, East Bay, he attended San Francisco State University as a Music Education major in Vocal/Choral Music and Asian American Studies minor. He graduated in Spring 2013 and finished his Single Subject credential in Music in Spring 2015. He started teaching in the Fremont Unified School District in 2015 and currently teaches at two middle schools.


Mr. Cruz currently sings at Skyline College with the vocal jazz ensemble, Soundscape, as a bass/baritone, and plays trombone with the Skyline Concert Band. On many field trips and personal trips, he creates vlogs and edits videos that are uploaded to his YouTube channel, among other performance videos. Outside of teaching, he loves watching anime, listening to K-pop, playing video games, playing piano, spend time with his close friends (socially distanced, of course), and most recently, streaming video games.
