Restless — An Alex Hall Portrait
The first episode of the Portraits short film series, ‘Restless’ blends freeskiing action with an intimate look at the extraordinary skiing career of Alex Hall, a.k.a. A-Hall, the Utah-based Faction athlete and Olympic gold medalist.
A-Hall has redefined the boundaries of skiing for a generation. ‘Restless’ frames a life committed to progression, creativity and humility – a portrait of an athlete at freeskiing’s forefront, who earns enduring respect from rising talents to the legends of the sport.
Unfiltered — An Elisabeth Gerritzen Portrait
In the second episode of the Portraits short film series, Unfiltered, we reflect on Elisabeth Gerritzen’s remarkable competitive skiing career. After a 7 year campaign on the Freeride World Tour, Elisabeth — fondly known as “Eli”— won the crown in 2021. At what seemed like the peak of her career, it spurred on a soul search for what competing truly meant for her.
With her riding peers in tow, Unfiltered captures Elisabeth at a turning point of her career, as she charts a path beyond competition. Armed with her freeskiing mastery and a frank worldview that’s as sharp as her ski edges, Eli’s skiing journey is far from finished.
Boundless — A Sam Anthamatten Portrait
Ski-mountaineer Sam Anthamatten lives a split life: when you’re both a measured mountain guide and a daring professional freeskier, which hat do you wear?
We return to Sam’s lofty Swiss Alps backyard in this third and final episode of Portraits, steeped in big-mountain action. Joined by fellow freeride competitors Elisabeth Gerritzen, Martin Bender, and Yann Rausis, Sam ponders the central challenge of his career.
