Bio:
Melda N. Yildiz is a global scholar, instructional designer, and social justice advocate. She served as Chair of Instructional Technology at NYIT and Dean of Academic Affairs at Eastern International College. Her international work includes Fulbright projects in Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Kenya, and visiting scholar roles in Israel, Uzbekistan, UAE, and Canada. She has taught media literacy, educational technology, and curriculum design to P–16 educators and students worldwide. A published author and presenter, she holds an Ed.D. from UMass Amherst, an M.S. from Southern Connecticut State, and a B.A. from Boğaziçi University in Turkey.

Melda N. Yildiz is a global scholar, social justice educator, curriculum and assessment consultant, instructional designer, author, and edupreneur. She served as Chair of the Instructional Technology Program and Associate Professor at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and as Director of Academic Computing, Assessment & Accreditation, and Dean of Academic Affairs at Eastern International College in New Jersey.
A Fulbright Scholar to Turkmenistan (2009) and Azerbaijan (2016), she most recently served as a Fulbright Specialist to Tom Mboya University in Kenya, where she developed a Blue Economy Curriculum aligned with sustainable development goals. Her international appointments also include Visiting Scholar roles at Holon Institute of Technology (Israel) and Webster University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Her global teaching experience spans Vancouver, British Columbia; the United Arab Emirates; and the University of Alaska Anchorage, where she contributed to teacher training and instructional technology initiatives. She previously served as Media Specialist and Director of Media Services at Northfield Mount Hermon School, teaching grades 9–12.
Melda has taught Media Literacy, Multimedia Production, and Educational Technology at Lesley and Walden Universities and served as a research fellow at Oxford University. She holds an Ed.D. from UMass Amherst, an M.S. from Southern Connecticut State, and a B.A. from Boğaziçi University.

She served as the Director of Academic Computing and Assessment & Accreditation, and the Dean of Academic Affairs at Eastern International College in New Jersey, where she led academic planning, technology integration, institutional assessment, and accreditation initiatives. A Fulbright Scholar in Turkmenistan (2009) and Azerbaijan (2016), Melda most recently served as a Fulbright Specialist to Tom Mboya University in Kenya, where she supported the development of a Blue Economy Curriculum aligned with sustainable development goals.
She has also served as a Visiting Scholar at Holon Institute of Technology in Israel and at Webster University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, engaging in international collaboration on instructional design, curriculum development, and teacher education. Her global teaching experience includes assignments in Vancouver, British Columbia, the United Arab Emirates, where she contributed to teacher training and instructional technology programs.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a Media Specialist and Director of Media Services at Northfield Mount Hermon School, teaching media literacy and production to students in grades 9–12. As a teacher educator, Melda has taught Media Literacy Education, Multimedia Production, and Educational Technology to P–16 educators and teacher candidates. Her teaching appointments include national faculty at Lesley University, contributing faculty at Walden University, research fellow at Oxford University, and visiting scholar roles at Abant Izzet Baysal University and Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in Turkey. She also served as Director of Assessment and Accreditation and as a program reviewer and site visitor for the StarTalk: National Security Language Initiative (NSLI).
Melda has co-authored, published, and presented widely on Media and Information Literacy, Instructional Technology, and Global Education at national and international conferences. She holds an Ed.D. in Math & Science and Instructional Technology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an M.S. in Instructional Technology from Southern Connecticut State University, and a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from Boğaziçi University in Turkey.
