At The Meadow, wellness means seeing ourselves as whole people; mind, body, and spirit. It's finding balance in all parts of life. It’s about feeling grounded in the present while trusting that tomorrow can bring growth and possibility. Wellness grows through connection with ourselves, with others, and with purpose. Even when challenges arise, we lean on our resilience, our strengths, and the support around us to not just get through, but to truly thrive. Think of it as a pit stop, not a hangout, you’re welcome to use it when you need it, but the goal is to help you feel ready to jump back into class and keep moving forward. It’s a space built for balance, resilience, and accountability because taking care of yourself is just as important as showing up for your learning.
In the Meadow, you’ll find a calm environment designed to help you pause, breathe, and reset. During the allowed time here, you can practice self-regulation in ways that work for you—whether that’s relaxing with a mindfulness activity, using calming tools, journaling, or simply sitting quietly to gather your thoughts. It’s a space where you can take a step back from the stress of the day, regain balance, and prepare yourself to return to class feeling more focused and ready to learn.
At The Meadow, students can access more than just a calming space, it’s a hub for connection, growth, and support. The Meadow partners with local community organizations and wellness professionals to bring meaningful workshops, activities, and resources directly to campus. These offerings focus on topics such as stress management, mindfulness, healthy relationships, and overall mental well-being. Through these partnerships, The Meadow helps students build lifelong wellness skills, connect with trusted community resources, and strengthen their sense of belonging both at Homestead and beyond.
The Meadow is here for you. Talking to a counselor or specialist is always:
Voluntary – You choose if and when you want to talk.
Confidential – What you share stays private (unless there’s a safety concern).
Supportive – Specialists are here to listen, not to judge.
The only time staff must step in is if there’s a serious safety risk. Otherwise, you’re in control of your wellness journey.
Your space. Your choice. Your well-being.
You don’t have to be in crisis to stop by. Whether you’re stressed, overwhelmed, or just need to talk, support is always available.
Students have up to 15 minutes to practice self-regulation through mindfulness, calming tools, journaling, or quiet reflection. The designated time is a average time to self-regulate and not a set time. Student can request extended time and can be granted based on the genuine wellness need.
The Meadow is a place to disconnect, unwind, and reset. It’s an academic-free, homework-free, and electronics-free zone designed to help students step away from the demands of their day and focus on their well-being. When permitted, students may use their phones to listen to music for relaxation; however, all phones must be placed in the designated phone caddy while in the space. The goal is to create a calm, focused environment where everyone can take a true break and recharge.
At The Meadow, we value privacy, respect, and community care. Students are expected to honor the confidentiality of others by keeping conversations and personal information shared in the space private. The Meadow is a place to recharge, reflect, and connect; free from judgment, gossip, or distractions. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected while they take time for their well-being. By treating one another with kindness and maintaining each other’s privacy, we help keep The Meadow a calm and trusted space for all.
The Meadow is open to students before school, during break and lunch, and after school from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It’s a calm, restorative space, not a hangout spot, where the same expectations always apply: academic-free, phone-free, and respectful of others. Students are encouraged to visit for a mindful pause, to recharge, and to care for their well-being. In addition, monthly activities and workshops are hosted in The Meadow during lunch, featuring topics such as yoga, mindfulness, stress management, healthy relationships, and more, all designed to support balance and wellness in everyday life.
