Step-by-Step Guide

Setting up and Saving a Testing Session

  1. Log in to MAP.

    1. You can also access via Assessment Operations Page Here

  2. Click Manage Test Sessions

  3. Click Test My Class

  1. Check the boxes for the classes you want to test.

    1. I suggest testing all of them in ONE testing session.

    2. Unlike the SBAC, your testing session can stay active for multiple days.

  2. Click Select Status → All.

  3. Click Assign Test.

    1. Choose the test you are giving (Math or Reading)

  4. Click Save Session

Using a Saved Testing Session

  1. Click Manage Test Sessions.

  2. Click Show next to Saved Testing Sessions

  1. When you find your session, click Test Now.

  2. Share the TESTING SESSION NAME and the SESSION PASSWORD with students.

    1. Your students will need both of these to log in -- it is like the Session ID for the CAASPP.

    2. The password WILL expire at the end of the day. However, you can SAVE THE SESSION if students do not finish in one sitting! You will just generate a new password when you re-open the saved session the next day!

  3. Hit Confirm Now to allow students to test.

  4. At the end of the testing session, click End Testing Session.

    1. IF ANY STUDENT DID NOT FINISH, CLICK SAVE AND EXIT.

    2. The next day, you can re-open the saved session.

What if Students Don't Finish in One Session?

  • At the end of the testing session, if students are NOT finished, you can PAUSE for up to 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, it rolls over to a “suspension,” which lasts up to two weeks. If you cannot test again in 30 minutes you must save the session (see directions above).

  • When a student comes back to a testing session, the student continues the same test, but the password changes. (We have to put up a new password for the testing session, just like a Session I.D. for the SBAC.)
