Dr. Kregel earned his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013. He continued on to graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned his Ph.D. in 2018. He then spent time working at PPD, a nearby pharmaceutical analysis company before returning to UW-Madison in 2020 as a CAICE postdoctoral fellow. As a post-doc he studied chemical reactions at the air-water interface and developed a low cost RF oscillator to power numerous components of mass spectrometers.
At Bradley University he is excited to work with and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in developing mass spectrometry technology and investigating the electronic structure of organic molecules.

Josh is pursuing a degree in chemistry with a concentration in pre-pharmacy and plans to graduate in Spring 2026. His previous research experience includes the green production of theobromine and 7-methylxathine using engineered microbes. He is also an intern at the Midwest Bioprocessing Center. In his free time he enjoys playing video games and watching/playing baseball.
Kaarthic is a rising senior at Dunlap High School in the Peoria area. He is planning on enrolling in college in Fall 2026 and majoring in the biological sciences. In his free time he enjoys listening to music and podcasts.
Stanley is the lab mascot of the Kregel lab. When Stanley is not running after (or away from) his three year old human sister he loves to lay on the couch and bark to scare the cars driving down the street. He often visits the lab where he waits patiently for students to give him treats and belly rubs.
