The Education Technology Committee has recommended Seesaw (for students in K-6) and Google Classroom (grades 7-12) for our blended learning platforms. These should be available on devices and networks everywhere.
Also, if you had apps on older iPads from previous years, those were not erased.
If you are purchasing a digital subscription (e.g., Reading A-Z, IXL) that needs an app for delivery, please use the App Request Form or start a Help Desk ticket.
The Committee meets every month to review resources that have been identified through the app request form process. Here are several apps that have been through the process and will be available for request next September.
Math
IXL, Mathletics, Prodigy
General
Kahoot!
We also have several pilot projects for brand new apps. Stay tuned!
The open-endedness and sharing capabilities of these apps will help power math exploration and discussion during whole or small group sessions
Each app explores a different strand, helping students to gain a depth of knowledge before moving on to more abstract ideas.
This app brings a coding and STEAM capabilities to your school's iPads:
Control a Sphero robot
Assign coding activities to students (via Google Classroom)
Sphero robots NOT included!
View the slides at left for more details
This app brings a creative flair to story-telling:
Place artwork, characters or props in everyday places
View and capture the scenes you create as images or video on iPad
This is a great story-telling tool, suitable for gr. 3 and up
