English Language Arts

Instructional Materials:

The adopted curriculum for ELA instruction is myView by Savvas. We also use the Fingerspelling Our Way to Reading curriculum that was designed specifically for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students to supplement our core ELA curriculum. This program will be used for spelling and sign production.

Online Instructional Materials:

IXL is a personalized learning program. NTID Regional STEM Center (NRSC) provides Deaf programs within their region with free access through a grant. It combines curriculum, a Continuous Diagnostic, individual guidance, and real-time analytics to help teachers differentiate instruction for each of their students. For students, IXL encourages ownership of learning and builds skills and confidence.

Journeys is our Reading and ELA curriculum. The online materials can be accessed through ClassLink and include our weekly stories and grammar.
