Mr. Justyn Keller
Hello! My name is Justyn Keller ("Keller" to most), your student's middle school curriculum math teacher. I teach all grade-level mathematics in the middle school, from Grade 6 through Pre-Algebra. I also cover some "Intensive Mathematics" refreshers in my lessons and provide tutoring on high school concepts as well.Â
This is officially my fifth-year teaching at the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, but I have 3 additional years of experience as the teacher of record for Blind Middle School mathematics. I also had a brief stint as a middle grades English-Language Arts and middle grades Science teacher. My knowledge of educating the visually impaired is even more extensive.
I grew up in Tallahassee (Go Noles!) and South Georgia, until a crazy life event had me heading off to St. Augustine on a quest to overcome this newly acquired sense of feeling lost and broken. Arriving on FSDB's campus as a student in 2004, I, with much help through a solid and beautiful community of educators, learned how to soar again.
I am a proud alumnus of this great school (Class of 2006), and it is truly a privilege to work on this beautiful campus and give back to the community who gave me so much! In addition to being an educator, I wear many other hats: I coach (currently girl's goalball; boy's goalball and wrestling in the past). I sponsor extra curriculars (Close Up to Washington DC & Young Life). I am also a committee member (ERRE, Title 1, and more). Still, the greatest hat I wear is that of husband and dad!
All in all, I have a zeal for life and for providing hope to others. I hope, through our encounters, I can do just that for you! Let me know how I can!
- Justyn
