9:00-9:15 Morning Meeting (calendar, counting, and songs)

9:15-9:45 ELA Whole Group (phonics, weekly stories and poetry read aloud)

9:45-10:25 ELA Small Groups (writing, braille, and guided reading)

10:30-11:00 Lunch

11:00-11:40 Recess

11:45-12:30Math

12:30-12:45 Snack

12:45-1:30 Science/Social Studies

1:40-2:30 ECC Skills/IEP monitoring

2:40-3:30 Afternoon Recess

3:30 Dismissal M-TH/ 2:00 dismissal  on Friday

Grading System

Kindergarten Report Cards

Your child will receive a quarterly report card utilizing a standard based grading system.  In Kindergarten many of our lessons and assessments are presented and assessed orally. At the completion of a chapter or unit, a basic rubric will be used to assign  a grade to the assessment. A 4 is Excellent and depicts that the student meets and exceeds expectations.  A 3 is Meeting Standards and shows that the student can demonstrate their understanding either verbally or in written form.  A 2 shows that progress was made and the student is approaching expectations for the skill.  A 1 signals that the student is not meeting expectations and they do not understand the material or they are not participating.

You will see the following marks on the report card:

 EX=Excellent, MS=Meeting Standards, PM=Progress Made, 

IN=Improvement Needed.
