Welcome to the D & B Garden Center! This program is an academic class as well as being a student run business.  Students learn horticulture skills in class as well as business/work skills. These skills are applied in real life experiences.  They buy plants, propagate plants, and maintain plants.  They also research plants to create care sheets to give to customers and create signage for the flower shop.  Students sent out emails to the community and to the staff at FSDB to sell plants to customers.  A webpage is also maintained by the students to allow customers to access the inventory and prices at the nursery.  Many students pursue certifications such as a OSHA Safety Certification and the FNGLA Florida Certified Horticulture Professional Certification. These certifications will make the students better candidates for employment once they graduate should they want to be employed in the Agriscience field.
