Will all teachers submit data for TIA distinction?

-Yes.

How does the payout work?

-TIA takes two school years to process.  We collect data in year one, and we submit recommendations at the start of year two.  Designations are announced at the close of year two with payouts given by August 31.

-Example: We collected data across the 2021-2022 school year for all teachers.  We recommended teachers who met the criteria in October 2022.  We received designations in April 2023.  We processed payouts in August 2023.  Teachers receive TIA payouts for a total of five years once designated.

When will I know if I am designated as a TIA teacher?

-At the end of each school year, all data is collected and analyzed.  Teachers will have a chance to schedule a meeting to discuss their data before the end of the school year.  Confirmation for TIA designations is not available from TEA until the following spring semester.

How do you calculate my TTESS score for TIA?

-We take an average of the 8 dimensions in domains 2 and 3 from the summative evaluation.  However, if a teacher has any score less than a 3 in these domains, they are automatically eliminated from consideration.
