It's now time to set your thoughts in print. Consider your research and develop an outline for your article. This is an important first step in the writing process that should allow you to understand the beginning, middle, and end of your own essay. Only after you've outlined should you begin drafting the article.

The Fourth Task: Outlining and Drafting
For this assignment I will not require you to submit your outline. In real life, this would be something an editor may discuss with you, but they would likely assume you are organizing your thoughts with an outline and not check on this step.
Be sure to take the time to edit your writing and submit your best work possible. Take special care to cite your sources, and be sure to do so immediately. Submitting an essay without citations, even accidentally, may be considered plagiarism, which is a serious offense.
We will workshop your essays during our class meeting time. In some cases we may examine small elements of your writing, or entire essays. Further instruction will follow concerning our Writer's Workshop meetings.
The entire essay should follow MLA format and include a complete works cited page (you can now remove the annotations). The essay should be carefully proofread and free of grammatical or spelling errors. If your editor makes any suggestions or finds any errors, be sure to make your corrections in a timely manner.
