Welcome to the SEM Passages Website for Units 1-6. This site will be used to disseminate class materials and as the source of lesson modules. A majority of the work for this class will be completed asynchronously, with our meeting sessions to be used as a workshop environment in which we discuss topics, share ideas, and critique writing pieces.
1. By the careful analysis of a text, I can learn from its craft as well as its content.
2. Through reading and writing, I can have an impact on local and global issues.
3. I will address difficult issues through writing that builds tolerance and empathy; I can learn more about these issues by reading texts that do the same.
4. By studying the words of great leaders, I can learn to give voice my own concerns.
As we work together in this course, we will utilize the UN Global Goals as resource and inspiration for our reading and writing. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the Goals, which are included on the next page of the site.
