Meet

Mrs. McCormack

I graduated from Gettysburg College with a degree in psychology and a K-8 elementary teaching degree. I have been in the Flemington-Raritan School District since 1996. Barley Sheaf School was the first school I taught at and was my 'home' for almost ten years, where I taught fifth grade. Then, when J.P. Case Middle School opened during the 2005-2006 school year, I moved up to seventh grade to teach math. For the 2007-2008 school year, I returned to Barley Sheaf to teach third grade. After a couple years, I looped and followed my third graders to fourth grade. In 2017, I moved into a Literacy Support position, and then during the 2018-2019 year, I trained to become a Reading Recovery teacher.

At home, I have two crazy cats who love to get into trouble and two dogs who are my companions wherever I go! I love reading, sitting on the beach (and reading!), swimming in the ocean, going for walks, and working with kids! Teaching has always been something I have wanted to do. Both my parents were teachers -- my mom taught fourth grade, and my dad taught middle school math. When I was younger, I spent many hours in both of their classrooms observing and helping out after my school day ended.

I truly love all things reading and writing! Watching students grow and blossom into capable and confident young readers and writers is incredibly exciting, and I am thrilled to begin another year helping young readers grow in their confidence and ability!
