Homework, in general, is meant to reinforce concepts being taught in class and consists of:
Reading: Your child should read for at least 20 minutes daily Sometimes he or she will come home with assigned books. If not, he/she may read whatever they would like. They can read independently or with someone else The goal is to READ and have fun! Books, magazines, recipes ... there are so many possibilities. If your child needs books from our classroom library, I am more than happy to lend them out.
Fundations: A packet will come home on Monday. Your child will need assistance. An adult needs to dictate the words and sentence as noted in the directions. The completed homework should be returned on Friday.
Math: A worksheet will come home daily, Monday-Thursday. Of course, engaging your child in math daily in and around your home is highly encouraged. For example, you can investigate concepts such as time, dates, patterns and measurement. Math is all around us! Explore it with your child everyday!
