Reading:
Your child should read for at least 20 minutes each day.
Sometimes they will bring home assigned books, but if not, they are welcome to choose what they enjoy—books, magazines, recipes—whatever sparks their interest!
Reading can be done independently or with someone else. The goal is simply to read and have fun!
If your child needs books, I’m more than happy to lend some from our classroom library.
Fundations:
A packet will be sent home on Monday.
Your child will need support with this work—specifically, an adult should dictate the words and sentence as outlined in the directions.
Completed packets should be returned on Friday.
Math:
A math worksheet will come home Monday through Thursday.
In addition to these assignments, I encourage you to engage your child in real-world math activities at home. Explore time, dates, patterns, measurement, and more—math is everywhere! Make it a part of your daily conversations and routines.
Please assist your child with homework as needed. If they are having difficulty, feel free to jot me a quick note or send an email so I can provide extra support at school. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the homework, don’t hesitate to reach out.
