Your goal is to communicate your ideas, experiences, and your perspective of the world around us through thoughtful artistic choices in an original work of art.
What does that look like?
Art isn't just making something pretty to hang on the wall. The artwork that people like the most emotionally engages us and resonates with our own experiences or feelings.
So, use your personal experiences as inspiration.

Think about it:
How do you think using your own experiences can make your artwork more interesting or meaningful?
Write it down:
What's the biggest fear, love, or worry that influences your life? What makes you laugh out loud? Or roll your eyes? What makes your heart sing?
Make a little sketch:
How could you visually communicate that idea - what symbols, images, or metaphors could you use to strengthen your idea?
