About me
Like all good actors, I have a diverse resume to share.
My passion for performance began in childhood, leading me to explore dance, piano, clarinet, and choir. However, it was in middle school that I truly discovered my love for acting.
I pursued this passion through high school and college, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching (BAT) from Sam Houston State University with concentrations in Theatre, English, and Education, and a specialization in Costuming for Technical Theatre.
After graduation, I had the incredible opportunity to work for Walt Disney World in Florida under Jim Henson Productions—yes, I proudly donned the 75-pound Miss Piggy costume for seven shows a day! I also performed as Floyd Pepper (Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem) and Pluto while participating in a local improv group and writing show material.
When my contract ended, I moved to Busch Gardens Tampa, where I performed five shows daily and worked as a strolling park character. Following that, I took on a historically immersive role at Colonial Williamsburg, serving as a costumed guide and interpreter.
Eventually, I returned to Texas, balancing a “day job” while performing at various theaters in the Dallas area, including Pocket Sandwich Theater, Pegasus Theater, Garland Civic Theater, and Bath House Theater. Then, an exciting opportunity led me to a national tour with The Repertory Theater of America: Alpha Psi Players, performing in repertory across the United States.
After the tour, I spent time in New York, performing with an improv troupe, working on a cruise ship, and auditioning extensively before returning to Texas. Back home, I worked in the publishing industry (The Met, D Magazine, Dallas Child, The Underground Shopper) while continuing to perform with Scarborough Faire as a Performing Company member, Character Instructor, and Costumer. I also performed with Keith & Margo’s Murder Mysteries and did voice-over work for companies like Motel 6 and Spectrum.
A turning point came when a fellow theater professional invited me to teach summer workshops. That opportunity eventually led me to Frisco ISD, where I have been the Middle School Theatre Director at Wester Middle School since 2004. In my role, I direct 4-5 productions annually and founded our Junior Thespian Society.
Somewhere along the way, I got married, bought a house, adopted four dogs (two Golden Retrievers, a Blue Heeler-Chihuahua mix, and a Great Pyrenees), and became a proud parent of two wonderful children.
Despite my full-time teaching career, I continue performing professionally. I work with Frisco Improv Players, Motley Players, and ComedySportz, take on contract roles (such as Dark Hour Haunted House Promo Witch), and provide voice-over work. I also contribute to my community by directing Drama for my church’s Vacation Bible School.
I plan to continue sharing my passion for theatre and improv until I drop—or at least until my kids finish college! (Son started at Loyola New Orleans this year!! Daughter is a Junior at CHS)
