Ms. Maranto 

Thanks for stopping by! My name is Melissa Maranto. 

This is my tenth year teaching at Vaughn Elementary. I've taught 2nd grade for four years and 1st grade for five years. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies. A few summers ago, I graduated with a Masters in Early Childhood Education at Texas Woman's University. Teaching has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.

I am originally from Kenner, Louisiana and moved to Texas with my family after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I grew up living in Plano and moved to McKinney in the fall of 2017. In my spare time you can find me with my sweet dog, Nellie, doing everything together. I enjoy painting my nails. I have quite the collection of nail polishes and purses. I am a lover of anything leopard print as well as anything that sparkles! My favorite time in the classroom is read aloud time and my favorite activity is a directed drawing with the class! 

I can't wait to get to know you all this year. I am pumped up to teach and support all the first grade kiddos for the 2025-2026 school year!
