THE DIRECTORS

Benjamin Kelly is in his 15th year of teaching and the 8th year as one of the band directors at Trent Middle School in Frisco ISD. He has been part of the Lone Star Cluster since the first year Lone Star High School Opened. At Trent, he is the lead teacher for the Honors band, jazz band, and Beginning Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, and Tuba. He previously was an assistant band director at Stafford MS in Frisco. His ensembles have received consistent Superior ratings at UIL concert and Sightreading Contest and superior ratings and best in class awards at Peak and Music Across Texas festivals. The Trent Honors band was the 1st in the region and Area Finalist for the TMEA Honor Band Process. Mr. Kelly is a member of TMEA and TBA.

Mr. Kelly is a Texas transplant having grown up in Beaverton Oregon. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2008. He lives in Little Elm Texas with his wife Carolise, 7 year old daughter Caroleen, and almost 2 year old son Zackary. Carolise is a special education teacher at Trent MS, and his daughter is living up life in 2nd grade!

Mr. Kelly is avid baseball fan in his off time (go rangers) and loves playing trumpet for his students, family, and his church. He feels very blessed to be a music educator in Texas.

Ms. Gamble is thrilled to join the Trent Middle School Band program as the new Assistant Director of Bands. She recently graduated from Texas A&M University-Commerce with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.

During her time at TAMUC, Ms. Gamble was a dedicated member of the Wind Ensemble, serving as principal flutist/piccolo. She also held leadership roles in the “Pride” Marching Band, including section leader and Head Drum Major. Beyond these ensembles, she has experience in steel pan ensembles, private flute instruction, and marching band technical staff.

As a proud Frisco ISD alumna, Ms. Gamble attended Griffin Middle School and Wakeland High School. She's eager to share her passion for music with the students of Trent Middle School and can't wait to make some amazing music together!
