My name is Kristina Knox, and I am the librarian here at Spears. I am so excited about getting to know you and your children over the course of this year as it promises to be full of valuable learning experiences, great books, and of course, fun! I grew up in Odessa, Texas and graduated from Permian High School in 1997. I then moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. Whoop! While there, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Science in 2001.
In May of 2020, I completed my Masters in Library and Information Science at UNT and began my career as a school librarian here at Spears in the Fall of 2020. This will be my 24nd year in education, my 22nd year in Frisco ISD, and my 6th year as a school librarian. My husband, Robb, and I have an 12-year-old daughter named Deklyn, who will be in 7th grade at Hunt Middle School this year, and we just celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in July. We have a spunky, 6 year old Frenchton named Mavis and a brand new Boston Terrier puppy named Murphy. In my free time, I love to read books of all kinds, spend time with my friends and family, travel, and watch movies. I have a passion to help children grow their love for reading and enjoy helping students find books they love through one on one discussions, books talks, book clubs, and author visits.
