The Texas 2x2 Reading Program was created to encourage early readers age two to grade two. Every year the Texas Children's Round Table (CRT) reads through hundreds of books and narrows the selection to 20 fantastic books!
Just read or listen to all of the books at home, at school, or in the library and keep track of your reading by completing the 2x2 Coloring Boot Log (click the boot image to the right to make a copy). Students, remember to color one piece of the boot puzzle for each book read or read aloud.
When you finish, have your parent sign it and return your completed sheet to your classroom teacher. Students will receive a prize from Mrs. Topp!
Last day for PreK-2nd to turn in the 2x2 log is *Thursday, March 12th, 202.

The Texas Bluebonnet Award is one of the most prestigious children’s choice literary awards in the United States. Each year, 20 books are chosen for the Texas Bluebonnet Award List. Schools and libraries around the state participate in the program, encouraging students to read a minimum of five books from the list. In January, students vote for their favorite title. The author of the book receiving the most votes wins the Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) which is presented at the Texas Bluebonnet Award presentation held during the TLA Annual Conference in the spring.
Read at least 5 of the 20 Texas Bluebonnet books.

Students must read and complete a Bluebonnet Form for five of this year's twenty Bluebonnet nominee in order to be eligible to vote for their favorite book in January and to receive a prize.

The Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading List is a recommended reading list designed for children in grades K-5. The purpose of the list is to encourage students to explore a variety of current graphic novels. The Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading List is intended for recreational reading, not to support a specific curriculum. Due to the diversity of this age range, Texas librarians should purchase titles on this list according to their individual collection policies.
The Tejas Star Reading List (TSRL) provides a recommended reading list to encourage children ages 5-12 to explore multicultural books and to discover the cognitive and economic benefits of bilingualism and multilingualism. The Tejas Star Reading List is intended for recreational reading, not to support a specific curriculum.
