Homework

Homework should be purposeful.  Your child's time is valuable and we want them to learn to have a balance of work, play and family time.  Therefore, the homework that you will see for your child may include the following throughout this school year:

*READ: The most important thing that you can do is read with your child 10-20 minutes each night.  This may be you reading to your child or your child reading to you.  More details are included in your child's guided reading envelope.

*PRACTICE SIGHT WORDS: Below you will find the Kindergarten sight words organized by nine weeks. These are the words that appear most often in printed material. Recognizing these words quickly by sight is valuable in your child becoming a fluent and confident reader. Practice with them often!
