Seniors, this is a reminder that if you plan to receive a Volunteer Cord at graduation, you must have 100 verified volunteer hours logged in Xello by March 31st at 11:59 PM.

Please do not wait until the last minute. All hours must be submitted in Xello by the deadline.

Do you have a weighted GPA of 4.5 or higher?  If so, you may be eligible for an Academic Letter Patch.  Students must fill out this form by March 13, 2026 at 5pm This is a firm deadline - if the deadline is missed, it cannot be reopened.  Students must be logged into their FISD account to submit the form, so parents will be unable to submit the form.  

Please note that letter patches are $25+ tax, and after approved, the fee will be added to your student online school fees account to pay.

You must meet the criteria below to obtain the Academic Letter Patch:

• A current student must earn a cumulative 4.5 GPA or higher for a minimum of five semesters of high school coursework, with at least one being in Frisco ISD
• All classes that count for class rank will be calculated in a student’s GPA.
• Students may receive only one academic letter patch during their high school career. If you already have one, please do not apply again.

Students purchase their own letter jacket and the patch. If a student is approved, they will receive an email with instructions on how to pay for the Academic Patch after the application window closes.  We will order Patches after the payment window closes for all qualifying students that have paid the fee.  Students will then be called down to the Counseling Office to pick them up once we receive them.

If you submit an application and do not qualify, you will be notified via your FISD email.

We will award two scholarships this year, each with a maximum of $1,500.00 per year, limited to $750.00 per semester. The scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years!

We are pleased to announce the Communities Foundation of Texas’s 2026 Scholarship Applications are now open! We have over 50 scholarship opportunities and will award around $2 million in scholarship funds. Here are a couple! 

• CREW in the Community Scholarship provides scholarships of up to $5,000 each year to female students who are pursuing a degree in a Qualified Field of Commercial Real Estate at any accredited 2-year or 4-year undergraduate or graduate college or university (Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental, Land Surveying, etc.) Deadline March 1st, 2026.

• The ECLAT Foundation Scholarship provides one-year $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors or college students who plan to or attend an accredited college or university in the State of Texas. Deadline April 1st, 2026.

• The Giana Foundation Scholarships awards one-year scholarships of up to $5,000 that may be used for tuition books and fees at any accredited four-year college or university or community college in the United States or its possessions to pursue a degree in the Visual and/or Performing Arts. Deadline April 1st, 2026.

TCU STEM Scholar Program

TCU’s STEM Scholar Program is a scholarship program developed for academically talented students who seek to use their STEM education to support underserved communities.

Did you know the peak of scholarship season is January - March of your senior year? This means more scholarship applications are open, and you need to be applying. To help you navigate this busy season, I've created a list of scholarships application tips and tricks to help you be more efficient with scholarships!

Scholarship tips:

• Create an account on Going Merry to get matched to vetted scholarships.

• Apply to scholarships using a dedicated professional email. EX - firstname.lastname@gmail.com

• Check your email! Most scholarship providers take 4-6 months to let you know you were selected, and often have acceptance windows.

• Focus on scholarships that give you better odds of winning - Local, college specific, and essay scholarships often receive fewer applicants.

• Small award scholarships are far more common and easier to win.

• Write a couple of essays based on the most common prompts, and reuse them

• Scholarships are a numbers game. You need to apply to more than you think. On average, students are eligible for 50-100 opportunities, but typically apply to less than 5.

Transcripts must be ordered through Parchment at the link below.

All students will receive an email with their access code. This is sent at the beginning of each year. Search your email for “Parchment” as you will have one that gives your access code. Once you have set up your account, you MUST add a personal email address to your account. This will ensure that you always have access to this account, even after graduation. 

Our registrar is alerted through Parchment for every transcript ordered. The whole process can take from 3-5 days during high processing times. Please be sure to plan accordingly to be sure you take this delay into consideration for approaching deadlines.
