College Admissions Steps
Step 1: Submit your Application and Pay the application fees.
We ask that you use Common App or Apply Texas first. Use the application that has the most schools you are applying to first. Maybe you can get them all in under one!
Apply Texas www.applytexas.org
Apply for admission to any Texas Public University and some private.
Common App www.commonapp.org (this is our most popular app)
over 800 and counting schools nation wide, both public and private, and even Texas
Not on Common App or Apply Texas? Use the Individual School Application from their website.
Coalition App www.coalitionforcollegesuccess.org
This app tends to be harder to complete- we ask that you talk to your counselor before using this one to make sure it is the best option!
Step 2: Request a transcript using Parchment.com

Step 3: Submit SAT and/or ACT scores if needed
Students must submit their own scores and they must be sent directly from SAT or ACT. Reedy does not send scores

Step 4: Letters of Recommendation
Letters are not required for all schools, only request a letter if it is needed
Teacher and Counselor Recs are typically required on Common App and for Private Schools
Allow 10 School days for your letter to be processed after request. Follow our calendar for your deadlines
If a letter of rec needs to be mailed, students will need to provide a stamped and addressed envelope to the counselor
