P.B.I.S. (Positive Behavior Incentive Systems)
At Scott we use a layered rewards system. Students can earn rewards as an individual, team, and whole class for positive behaviors. We also have a whole school PBIS system where students can earn tickets from any adult in the building.
Dojo Points: Earned for individual positive choices and can be turned in for rewards such as bring a stuffed animal, pajama day, treasure box, and varies per classroom. Points can also be earned as a table team for reaching a goal.
Whole Class Reward: Each classroom has a different whole class incentive for behavior such as "brownie points" or "star jar". When students earn a compliment from someone in the building for positive behaviors as a class they will earn another compliment towards their whole class reward. Compliments might happen while walking in the hallway, while at library, at lunch, or during Specials. Whole class rewards include options that were voted on as a class such as a dance party, extra recess, free ipad time, sensory walk in the hallway, popcorn party, etc.
Campus Tickets: Every adult in the building is given tickets that they can pass out to students who are showing Scott P.R.O.U.D. behaviors. The tickets are put in a grade level box and there is a drawing at lunch every other Friday. If their ticket is drawn they get to pick something from the Scott Treasure box. Tickets that get drawn then get to go to the campus wide ticket spinner and tickets that get picked from that spinner will get to go spin the reward wheel at Celebrate Scott.
