Welcome to First Grade!

My name is Jenn Burns and I’m excited to be starting my 12th year here at Scott as a first grade teacher! Previously I was the Health and Wellness coach, as well as the P.E. aide here at Scott.

I am originally from Sugar Land, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. This is the start of my 27th year in education which has included teaching grades Pre-K through 4th, as well as being in P.E.

My husband Michael and I have been married for twenty years and have twin girls, Lexie and Lilly, who will be juniors this year at Heritage. We also have two fur babies CoCo Bear and Gus Gus.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family cheering for Hayden Springer on the PGA tour,  rooting for the New York Giants (Go Big Blue),  and the Heritage Coyotes, hanging out with friends, going to movies, concerts, anything true crime, and thrifting!

I am beyond thrilled about this school year, and I can’t wait to get to know both you and your child. I really believe that we are in this together! I look forward to a great 2025-2026 school year!
