How can the school counselor help?

Classroom Counseling Lessons
School counseling lessons are provided in every classroom and focus on students' academic, character, life-skills, and career development. Lesson topics and resources are shared in my counselor newsletter for families to view.

Small Group Counseling
Small groups help students build skills in areas such as friendship, emotional regulation, coping, grief, and family changes. Participation requires written parent permission and space is limited.

Individual Student  Support
Students may meet with the school counselor individually for brief, solution-focused support. Meetings may include a quick check-in or several short-term sessions to help students navigate challenges such as friendships, family changes, emotional concerns, or problem-solving. School counseling is not therapy or long-term mental health treatment. If you believe your child would benefit from ongoing counseling, I am happy to help connect you with community resources. Parents, teachers, students and staff may request support through the referral form in the counselor newsletter.

Consultation & Collaboration
I partner with families, teachers, administrators, and other school staff to support student success. Whether you're looking for strategies, resources, or guidance in supporting a student, I am here to collaborate and help identify the best next steps.

Conflict Resolution
When appropriate, I help students develop communication and problem-solving skills while working toward respectful, productive conflict resolution.

Resources & Referrals
I can connect families with community resources and provide referrals for outside counseling and other support services when needed including food, clothing, and hygiene assistance.
